Housing -
Bedford Place
Bedford Place is a ten bed supportive recovery home for
men recovering from substance abuse and substance abuse related issues.
Representing an integrated and collaborative approach to the provision
of supportive, recovery-based housing, the program brings together
people who share the commitment to bridge alcohol and drug, mental
health and the criminal justice system.
 |
The approach used to deliver and coordinate services at Bedford Place is
a model of case management. Residents work together with their case
manager to develop an Integrated Service Plan that identifies treatment
goals and details a plan of action. Programs are abstinence based with a
pragmatic and realistic approach to managing relapse that is consistent
with Best Practices Guidelines. |
On site counselors from Kelowna Alcohol and Drug Services
work with residents in small groups to facilitate change using
Structured Relapse Prevention Therapy.
Bedford Place is a project of the John Howard Society in partnership
with BC Housing, Real Estate Foundation of B.C., Interior Health,
Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance and BC Mental Health and
Addictions Services.
