New Gate Apartments provides 49 units of supportive housing for adult men and women who are at risk of homelessness and require some support to maintain their housing.

The supportive housing model has been proven effective in moving individuals at risk of homelessness from temporary shelter to more secure housing. In addition, supportive housing connects individuals with the services and supports they need to stabilize and rebuild their lives.

The support services, simply those required to maintain independent living, are provided on an individualized basis with outreach as the main method of service delivery.

New Gate Apartments is the fourth supportive housing resource in Kelowna owned and operated by John Howard Society.

New Gate Apartments:

· Has 49 self-contained studio units and 24/7 staffing;

· Provides longer term housing for stable adults who are capable of independent living;

· Is a partnership between the provincial and municipal government and John Howard Society;

· Fills an essential gap in the Housing Continuum in our community.
